How do you develop metrics for a project?

To develop project metrics, I start by defining the core problem the project aims to solve and the target timeframe. Then, I establish key performance indicators (KPIs) across several dimensions:

• Scope: Did the project deliver the intended features and functionality, meeting or exceeding the initial requirements?
• Resources: Were planned resources (people, tools) effectively utilized to achieve project goals?
• Budget: Was the project completed within the allocated budget, or were there significant overruns/underruns?
• Schedule: Were key milestones and the overall project timeline met according to the plan?
• Quality: Did the final deliverables meet the defined quality standards and stakeholder expectations?
