As a Meta PM, my primary goal would be to minimize user exposure to harmful, inappropriate, or misleading advertisements across all Meta platforms. This directly impacts user trust, platform integrity, and Meta's brand reputation.

Key Goals:

1. Reduce the volume of policy-violating ads served: Aim for a significant year-over-year reduction in the number of ads that are flagged and removed for violating Meta's advertising policies.
2. Improve detection accuracy: Increase the precision of our automated and human review systems to catch more bad ads before they are served, while minimizing false positives.
3. Enhance user reporting effectiveness: Make it easier for users to report problematic ads and ensure these reports are acted upon swiftly and accurately.

Measuring Success:

1. Ad Policy Violation Rate: Track the percentage of ads served that are subsequently removed for violating policies. A lower rate indicates better prevention.
2. User Report Volume & Resolution Time: Monitor the number of user-reported ads and the average time taken to review and act on these reports. Faster resolution and a decreasing trend in reports for specific types of violations (after interventions) would be positive.
3. False Positive Rate: Measure the percentage of ads incorrectly flagged by our systems. Minimizing this is crucial to avoid impacting legitimate advertisers.
4. User Sentiment/Trust Surveys: Periodically survey users to gauge their perception of ad quality and trust in Meta's ad ecosystem. While indirect, this provides a crucial qualitative measure.
