Tell me about a time when you took on something significant that was out of your area of responsibility. Why was it important and what was the outcome?

During a critical deployment for BBVA, our QA lead had to leave unexpectedly. Although my role as a Senior Systems Engineer focused on ETLs and data pipelines, I volunteered to step in and manage the testing coordination. This was crucial because the deployment was on a tight deadline, and without leadership, testing would have stalled, jeopardizing the project timeline. I quickly familiarized myself with the test cases, coordinated with developers and stakeholders, and ensured all critical issues were addressed. As a result, we successfully completed the deployment on schedule, demonstrating adaptability and commitment beyond my defined responsibilities.
