    I received a CodeSignal link and had four problems to solve, managed to solve three out of four within the time limit. One of the problems was tricky, but overall it went smoothly and I got shortlisted for the onsite interviews

    The question was Number of Ways to Place People II, I explained my approach step by step, and the interviewer kept asking follow-up questions to test my understanding of corner cases

    Kth Smallest Element in a BST and a couple of similar tree-based variations The interviewer was very friendly and supportive, He gave me approachable medium-level follow-up problem after the main one, honestly I felt lucky

    For HLD, I was asked to design Restaurant Recommendation System based on user location, the interviewer was a backend tech lead and extremely knowledgeable

    • Initially, the requirements were straightforward, so I was able to sketch out a basic design in under 15 min
    • Then, he increased the difficulty by lowering latency requirements
    • I discussed caching strategies, sharding for different regions, database indexing, and load distribution
