The round started with a quick intro, then straight to the code. The interviewer asked me to share my screen, Data Structures & Algorithms was the main course arrays, strings, trees. I was also grilled on OOPs basics, inheritance vs. composition, interfaces, polymorphism, and design patterns. The problems weren’t ultra-hard, but the real test was thinking out loud, handling feedback, and explaining my approach.

This one was all about Android MVVM, Dependency Injection, the inner workings of ViewModel, and real-time challenges. MVVM: Why use it? How does it compare to MVP or MVC? Where does livedata fit in? Dependency Injection: What is Hilt? Why not use manual DI? How do you manage scopes in a large app? ViewModel Internals: How does ViewModel survive configuration changes? What’s the role of the ViewModelStore? How do you handle long-running operations? The questions were practical and insightful, not textbook. The interviewer wanted to see how I structure code, handle state, and manage dependencies in a real app, not just recite definitions.
