Specalist programmer at Infosys

So, The guy sitting next to me showed up with a colored, fancy resume. Within the first two minutes, the interviewer basically shut him down, she said that kind of resume format wasn’t proper at all. Her exact words were something like, “At least make it clean and well-formatted; this isn’t eye-catching, it’s eye-burning!”

During the round one discussion, she asked if any of us used AI to clear the first coding round. The guy next to me was brutally honest, he straight-up admitted he used AI for one question. The interviewer’s face changed instantly, like she’d just tasted sour milk. When it came to my turn, I played it cool and said I hadn’t used any AI (even though, between us, I kinda did use it for that 3rd question I passed 1 out of 10 test cases on 😅 but not able to do 3rd question ,Still the second question is 8/10 test cases solved i used ai to decrease time and space complexity but still 8/10 only solved).

Then, after the guy next to me got hit with the Coin Change DP problem. He struggled to solve it, and the interviewer didn’t hesitate, she looked him right in the eye and said, “You should’ve done your DSA properly instead of cheating, then you would’ve nailed this question.”

I also know a friend of a friend from another college who honestly admitted to using AI in round 1. She managed to solve all the standard questions in round 2 but, despite that, she was not selected in the end.

So, moral of the story: sometimes you just gotta fake it till you make it, and keep the AI confessions to yourself! 🤞

For this role, they mainly ask standard questions, mostly from the Striver’s SDE sheet, which I also used for my preparation. Additionally, it’s important to be well-prepared in DBMS and SQL queries, and have a strong understanding of the projects mentioned in your resume. These are the key areas to focus on in order to clear the interview.

Recently completed B.Tech in 2025 and selected for a Specialist Programmer role at Infosys through a competitive exam conducted across multiple colleges in India. Cleared both Round 1 and Round 2 after receiving the test link via college.
