   HR Screening Call30 min

   This was a friendly introductory call with HR, combining basic technical and behavioral questions. The HR asked fundamental SQL and Python questions and discussed the next steps. Questions:

   • Explain different types of SQL Joins (Left Join, Right Join)
   • Basic Python concepts (functions, data types)
   • General conversation about availability and interview scheduling

   Technical Interview60 min

   The round was focused on assessing my SQL and Python skills in-depth. The interviewer, a Senior Integration Engineer, put me through a series of challenges that tested my ability to write complex SQL queries, especially those involving joins and optimization. We covered writing queries using different types of joins (Inner, Left, Right, Full), and I was asked to explain the best techniques for query optimization. Another key area of focus was handling large datasets efficiently, where I shared strategies like indexing, partitioning, and optimizing queries to reduce processing time.

   Managerial Discussion with Associate Director45 min

   This round felt more like a casual discussion, where we focused on my motivations, past experiences, and how well I’d fit into the team. The interviewer was particularly interested in how I would adapt to a semi-technical role that would involve working with Python, SQL, and Excel. Some of the questions included:

   • Tell me about your past projects and what you worked on.
   • Why do you want to join ClearTax?
   • How do you feel about transitioning into a role that’s a mix of both technical and analytical tasks?
   • How do you stay motivated when learning new skills? It was a good conversation to understand my interest in growth and learning in a more hybrid role.
