   Online Assessment60 min

   I had to Solve Two DSA Questions:

   1. The Question was related to Two pointer pattern 2.The question was related to String Manipulation where i had to use sliding window pattern

   Technical + Behavioral Round60 min

   After I was selected in the First Round i had like one month to prepare for the interview I began to prepare from basics again with Striver blind 75 and neetcode 75 and my friend's 75 mix. In the Interview, i was asked to introduce myself and was asked some questions about myself. Then the behavioral began and i was asked two questions.

   1. Tell me about a time where you had to something out of your skill set and how did you handle it (something like this,not exact words) 2.Tell me about a time where you had a very tight deadline and you had to have a working product ready for presentation. I gave both the answers in STAR format (Prepare few real stories with the projects you have put in your resume) He only asked normal questions and not any challenging questions which indirectly meant he was satisfied by my answers this lasted for almost 20 mins After this we started the coding round: He gave me a question which was completely framed in python and as my language was java i converted the relevant part to java

   • I gave him a brute force method where i was using combination of maps to arrive at the required result,But he gave me additional conditions and i discovered more edge cases and i needed to come up with a better solution
   • The interviewer was very supportive and we communicated a lot(that is one point never be silent for long time keep communicating what you are thinking,the interviewer will also be testing how effectively you can communicate even if it is wrong they will steer you in right direction and this can only happen if you talk to them,so keep communicating with them),whenever i was going away from the solution he dropped hints to bring me back(i felt that he was also trying to come up with the solution for the problem with me and he also wanted me to succeed,it felt like we were genuinely having a curious discussing than an interview).
   • I was able to indentify that the problem can be effecively solved when we see the solution interms of Graphs(So yeah this was a graph question which is not common in these interns interview but you never know) I came up with the solution and gave him a dry run but there was still some parts of the answer in needed to come up
   • Before we knew we had crossed 55 minute mark of the interview , the interviewer said that we are out of time and i started panicking and got worried because i had not completed the complete solution. The interviewer noticed this and told me to calm down and actually praised that we were able to arrive this far towards the solution as it was relatively difficult problem not typically asked in this level of interviews for interns
   • We talked about his role,his org,his experience so far in amazon and also impact of AI in Amazon and aws and etc etc for the next 5 minutes
   • After this he said it was nice chatting with you and good luck and disconnected. After this i was actuallly relieved that the interview went better than i imagined after seeing the problem statement. But next day i started worrying that though that i was not able to complete the solution kept bugging me.Then finally one week later the replay came with those Golden words : " Congratulations you got the role".
