Melbourne Design Centre is part of Motorola Solutions' Software Enterprise organisation with a focus on streamlining processes and increasing operational efficiency with a highly configurable and integrated mobility solution designed for responders in the field.

Job Description

The Senior Fullstack Software Engineer (Web) is responsible for building new web applications as well as maintaining and supporting existing ones for Melbourne Design Centre. The main objective will be to design and build modern, responsive web front-ends and the APIs that power them, while also taking active participation in end-to-end development tasks like documentation, testing, deployment, support, troubleshooting and integration work centred around React, TypeScript, .NET, Azure Cloud and Docker.

Basic Requirements

Essential

• Perm Residency or citizenship required
• 5+ years of continuous commercial experience in an enterprise environment
• Deep proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), NodeJS, TypeScript, and frameworks like React, Next.js, or Vue.
• Package management (eg. Yarn, NPM)
• Familiarity with Vite, ESLint, Prettier, and modern TS tooling.
• A testing habit: Jest + React Testing Library, unit and integration.
• Understanding of WebSocket and WebRTC
• Understanding of state management framework (eg. Redux/MobX)
• Solid experiences in Software Development, Design and Architecture, ideally within an enterprise environment
• Strong knowledge and application of software design patterns
• Knowledge of web standards and ecosystem
• Experience with Agile development methodologies
• Solid understanding of HTTP, JSON and RESTful design
• Experience and knowledge of CI/CD pipelines

BONUS Skills

• Experience in C#, SQL Server and Azure Cloud
• Experience with containerisation (eg. Docker)
• Proficiency with web oriented IDE (eg. VS Code, Rider, Web Storm)
• Knowledge of CSS pre/post processor
• Experience with Jira and Confluence
• Experience with design tools (eg. Figma, Sketch, Zeplin)
• Experience with frontend build tools (eg. Webpack, Gulp, Rollup)
• Experience with responsive design (e.g Material Design)

 

Experience

• 5+ years engineering experience
• 2+ years delivering with Agile methodology
