Software Manager

Description

Ensure the design, execution, and quality of Astraveus’ software solutions. This includes leading internal teams and coordinating external partners to deliver a reliable, compliant software platform aligned with the company’s scientific, industrial, and regulatory objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

• Ensure software systems are designed, developed, and maintained in compliance with applicable regulations, including FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and support validation and audit readiness activities.
• Define and lead the overall software strategy in alignment with product vision, regulatory requirements, and Astraveus’ industrial development roadmap.
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle (design, development, testing, documentation, deployment) across embedded, cloud, and application domains.
• Act as the main point of contact for software topics at the executive level, providing regular updates on progress, technical risks, operational needs, and key trade-offs.
• Lead, inspire, and develop a multidisciplinary software team, fostering skills growth and strong team collaboration.
• Set technical priorities and ensure efficient allocation of internal and external resources.

Profile

echnical skills:

• Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related technical field.

• Proven track record of leading the development of a validated software product compliant with FDA 21 CFR Part 11, from design through regulatory approval and production use.

• 8+ years of experience in software development Including 5+ years of hands-on development experience with a strong focus on C++ (embedded, application-level, or system software).

• Including 3+ years of experience leading and managing technical teams (3+ enigneers)

• Proven experience working in multidisciplinary software environments (embedded systems, web, cloud)

• Proven experience working in modern web environment with technologies such as Python (for web applications) and JavaScript/TypeScript

• Proven end-to-end product lifecycle experience, from R&D to production deployment, with exposure to end users or customers and active participation in post-deployment iterations.

Astraveus is a French start-up created in 2016 specialized in the development of the Lakhesys Benchtop Cell Factory™ for the production of cell therapies.

Cell and gene therapies are composed of living cells with high therapeutic potential such as genetically modified lymphocytes to attack cancerous cells. Those therapies allow to cure incurable cancers and genetic diseases but they are currently too complex and expensive to produce. This results in substantial selling prices per patient, typically between 0.5 and 2 million euros.

Astraveus aspires to dramatically increase accessibility to genetically modified cell therapies by enabling more efficient process development and manufacturing at order-of-magnitude lower cost. To achieve this goal, we are developing innovative solutions that exploit the performance and precision of microfluidic modules in a fully automated environment.
