Controller (Temp ~8 months)

Istra is a leading Algo-Trading research company specializing in developing and deploying High Frequency Trading strategies (HFT). We use state of the art technology and algorithms that are developed by our elite highly-skilled group of experienced researchers and developers in a challenging, pleasant, and rewarding work environment.

We are looking for a controller to join our Finance team.

This role is a temporary maternity leave replacement (~8 months).

In this role, you will:

• Deal with aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting
• Handle accounting operations including A/P, GL, Revenues, Cost Accounting
• Prepare and monitor the budget and financial forecasts
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements including ongoing updates of the accounting systems.
• Handle regulatory reporting and compliance
• Prepare multi entities month-end and year-end close processes
• Provide quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Deal with government reporting requirements and tax filings and analysis
• Deal with cash management constrains
• Develop and maintain business process, accounting and internal control policies and procedures
• Analyze ongoing financial data and provide KPI’s
• Be involved with the audit process
• Support other departments within the company including providing financial performance analysis

What you’ll need to succeed:

• A Certified Public Accountant
• Cum laude Degree in Accounting
• 4+ years of overall accounting and finance experience (Big 4 + at least one additional role)
• Excellent English proficiency
• Solid understanding of accounting principles
• Data analysis proficiency
• Self-starter and high willingness to learn in a dynamic growing company environment
• Technical proficiency with accounting software systems
• Excellent control of all Office tools
