Within the Energy Management Business Unit, you will join the Power Products Division, which designs low-voltage electrical distribution products and systems.

Our portfolio includes electrical distribution solutions, digital tools, and cloud-based services used worldwide to design, configure, deploy, and operate electrical infrastructures.

As part of the Channel Partner Software organization, you will contribute to the evolution of enterprise web applications supporting switchboard configuration and related digital solutions, helping Schneider Electric deliver scalable, connected, and future-ready user experiences.

Your Role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will act as a Solution Architect for enterprise web applications and cloud-based solutions.

You will translate business and product needs into a coherent, scalable, and sustainable solution architecture. You will define the target architecture, guide Technical Leaders and development squads, and ensure that technical decisions remain aligned with product objectives, enterprise standards, and cloud engineering principles.

Working across the Agile Release Train, you will facilitate alignment between Product Management, Product Owners, Technical Leaders, DevOps, Security, Operations, and fellow architects.

You will anticipate architectural risks and ensure that scalability, performance, security, resilience, operability, maintainability, and cost efficiency are considered throughout the solution lifecycle.

Your Missions

Architecture Vision and Direction

• Define and communicate the target solution and cloud architecture.
• Establish architecture principles, standards, patterns and technical guardrails.
• Maintain an architecture evolution roadmap aligned with product strategy and business priorities.
• Ensure consistency between short-term delivery decisions and the long-term architecture vision.
• Contribute to the architecture runway required to support upcoming business capabilities.

Business and Technology Alignment

• Translate business needs, product capabilities and non-functional requirements into appropriate solution designs.
• Work with Product Management, Business Analysts and Product Owners to assess the architectural impact and feasibility of product initiatives.
• Explain architecture choices, constraints, risks and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support decision-making by presenting solution options and their consequences in terms of value, risk, cost and sustainability.
• Ensure that architecture decisions remain proportionate to business needs.

Solution Design and Governance

• Lead the definition of end-to-end solution architecture across frontend, backend, integration, data and cloud platform components.
• Review major solution designs, interfaces, APIs, integration patterns and cloud technology decisions.
• Facilitate architecture reviews and ensure that significant decisions are documented and communicated.
• Provide reusable patterns and guardrails that enable squads to implement consistent solutions.
• Evaluate technologies, frameworks and cloud services based on business value, technical suitability and enterprise standards.
• Maintain architecture views, diagrams, decision records, integration flows and supporting technical documentation.

Cloud Architecture

• Design secure, scalable, resilient and observable solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Guide the design of distributed, multi-layered, microservices-based and event-driven solutions where appropriate.
• Ensure that cloud solutions address availability, disaster recovery, performance, monitoring, security and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with DevOps and Operations teams to ensure that architecture decisions can be deployed, operated and supported effectively.
• Promote cloud cost awareness and sustainable architecture practices.

Cross-Squad Architecture Alignment

• Coordinate architectural decisions across squads, applications and shared components.
• Work closely with Technical Leaders to ensure that detailed designs and implementations are aligned with the target architecture.
• Identify cross-squad dependencies, interface constraints and integration risks.
• Collaborate with other architects to maintain coherence across the broader enterprise ecosystem.
• Encourage knowledge sharing through architecture communities, design workshops and technical reviews.

Security, Quality and Compliance

• Embed security and privacy principles into the solution architecture from the design stage.
• Collaborate with Security, DevOps and Operations teams to define appropriate technical controls.
• Ensure that non-functional requirements are explicit, measurable and considered in solution decisions.
• Promote architecture practices that support testability, observability, maintainability and production readiness.
• Ensure alignment with applicable enterprise architecture, cybersecurity and software development standards.

Your Profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• Significant experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or enterprise application architecture.
• Proven experience defining architecture for enterprise web applications and cloud-based solutions.
• Experience working with multiple Agile development squads and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience supporting architecture decisions throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
• Experience working in Agile organizations; SAFe experience is a strong advantage.
• Experience working in international and distributed environments is highly valued.

Your Skills

• Strong expertise in enterprise solution architecture and cloud-native application design.

• Proven experience designing and deploying solutions on Microsoft Azure.

• Solid understanding of: Distributed and multi-layer architectures

• Microservices architecture

• Domain-Driven Design

• REST APIs and API Management

• Event-driven architectures and messaging systems

• Relational and NoSQL databases

• Integration patterns

• Identity and Access Management

• Cloud security principles

• Observability, monitoring, resilience and disaster recovery

• Familiarity with modern application technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Angular and TypeScript.

• Strong understanding of CI/CD, infrastructure automation, containerization and DevOps practices.

• Ability to assess technical options and clearly explain architectural trade-offs.

• Ability to influence multiple teams and stakeholders without direct authority.

• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.

• Fluent English required.

For this France based position, the expected pay range is EUR 78.400 - EUR 117.600 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives (annual bonus) at target. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located in France. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Individual’s compensation is positioned within the range based on several factors such as knowledge, job-related skills, experience, potential and relevant education or training.
